The Secret of the Torii Archway

When you visit the Ise Jingu, there is a giant Torii archway at the entrance of the Sando path. There is another Torii archway in the middle of the Sando path and another right before the Honden main shrine.

You might wonder whether you should bow or not before entering the archway. And if you are bowing, where is the right position? In my understanding, one should bow before and after every archway. You might feel embarrassed to bow when other tourists are just passing through, but there is an important spiritual meaning to the act.

The explanation I am presenting here is entirely my personal opinion through my psychic reading. Please keep in mind that it has nothing to do with the commonly told tradition.

I have explained in the past that the concept of Torii archway derives from the idea seen in Judaism symbolically using the three pillars. However, the Japanese Torii only has two pillars. The secret key would be the third pillar which would be YOU, who is standing in front of the Torii.

Now I think you have the answer, whether to bow in front of the Torii or not. If you stand in middle of the Torii to make a perfect triangle, that would be the appropriate position to bow. After passing through, bow again at the third point of the triangle. So you would be bowing twice on each of the Torii. To be precise, at Gegū, stand slightly on the left side of the third point. And at Naigū, stand slightly on the right side as you bow. From there, you should be walking on the left side of the Sando path at Gegū and on the right side at Naigū.

The reason for this positioning is because the center of the Sando must be open for the Kami to pass through. When you walk consciously as you are walking on the Sando and in your daily life, it will help to bring good fortune accordingly to the Universal Law.  In front of the Honden main shrine, you will be bowing again in the same manner, not at the center but on the side. As you are walking back, bow again facing the Honden at each of the Torii (again twice each in front and back of the Torii).

One of our readers has made a visual graphics on the positioning. ( http://maruzo3.blog45.fc2.com/blog-entry-224.html) . This chain of movement can be seen in the Sephirot, one of the Jewish Kabbalah esoteric teachings. The functional structure is the same as I have explained in the way passing through the Torii archways.

The ten circles represent the ten levels (ranks) of the Divine World of the Sun. Each Torii you pass through, you get closer to Amaterasu-ohomikami.

According to my psychic reading, Moses and many other rabbis has visited Ise in the ancient times. They have much to do with the Emperor who had founded Ise Jingu. I am confident to say that when many rabbis of today from Israel come to visit Ise Jingu, world peace would come to realization.

The entire world started from the three stone pillars at Haku-san.

Shoulder aches

As long as you have a physical body, you need a certain amount of exercise.  If your circulation is not good, even a good medicine or supplement will not be consumed but just drain away. What you paid would simply be wasted.

A light depression or spirit possession could be cured or released by a good amount of exercise. By the understanding of Ko-Shinto, negative or evil energy (jaki) occurs from static energy (chi or ki) that becomes conagulated. In order to prevent a space to become conagulated and static, make sure the space (room) has enough circulation of air. And make sure the space is clean and tidy. The purpose of a Norito chant is also to move and cleanse the ki/chi of a place. It is important to change the atmosphere.

People who always have shoulder aches have a higher possibility to get caught by a spirit. Having a shoulder ache is a message that your circulation is not good. By doing enough exercise, your shoulder aches will be released and spiritually cleansed at the same time. Having a good flow of your blood stream is important.

In this world, everything should be flowing. A shrine where Kami reside, a limpid stream is requisite. A stream symbolizes the “flow.”

Since my work shift has been changed to the evenings, I no longer have the time to do my dashing up the hill exercise.  I’m also getting old, so this might be a good timing for me to change my way of exercising. These days, I work out at home before taking my daily evening bath. Taking a bath is the “flow” for me and the exercise comes with it as a set.

Here is my exercise menu:
1. Hindu style squat that works on the inner thigh.
As you come up from the squat position, you put both knees together very very slowly rise. I do this ten times. Your whole weight should be focused on the line between your big toes and the inner side of your heels.

2. I lie on the floor face up. Stretch my legs and put the big toes together and the heels apart, so it makes a perfect triangle. With my legs stretched and toes together, I lift up my legs about 15cm high. I wait as long as my abdominal muscle can handle and then go down. Repeat ten times.

3. Laying down, I put my knees up and do 10~20 sit-ups.
4. Then 10~20 slow push-ups.

I do this randomly for about 20 minutes. My waste is slimed and hips are tightened. I sit on a chair for a very long time during my work hours, but I don’t have any lower-back pain.

It’s important to breathe deeply and increase your heartbeat once a day. Make sure you don’t jump into the bathtub right after the exercise. It’s not good for your heart and blood vessel. Take a shower and wash yourself first.

So create your own menu for a daily light exercise. Don’t over do it. It will give stress to your body and you will age faster. Just do it in your own comfort zone.

Depression

Over ten years, a medical center run by the government has been researching about depression. They made an analysis from more than 200 patients:

1.     People who believe that there is no fate and life can be changed with effort have smaller chance of suffering from depression.
2.     People who believe that life is determined and controlled by fate have higher chance of suffering from depression.
3.      People such as vegetarians whose diet are controlled by low fat and extremely low cholesterol tend to have higher risk. And it is seen more in women. Excessive consumption of meat also leads to high risk of depression, which comes to a conclusion that a balanced diet is important.

This analysis was the same as what I have been writing through my psychic reading, which I find interesting. This proves that those who believe in paying for psychic readings or any other kind of spiritual workshops have the tendency to suffer from depression. Also, those who are serious yoga and/or meditation practitioners or who are a member of a religious group are dependent people who are like robots. No.2 applies to them.

Many of these people believe in fate and believe that they did something wrong in their past lives and because of that this life is going in a certain way and cannot be changed. They stop making efforts and think they are surrendering to the fate.  That is not true. After you die, you will find out that you wish you made an effort and regret not trying hard enough.

A mans walking is a succession of falls. It is important for one to have the courage and sturdiness to stand up and learn from the fall.

Your Innate God (soul) has two sides. One is the Ara-mitama(荒御魂) and the other is the Nigi-mitama(和御魂). The Ara-mitama is the vibrant part that feels the joy of life. It is the strong side of you who tries to protect from harm. Nigi-mitama is the feminine side that is gentle and peaceful. Those who become depressed are the ones with Ara-mitamas light hiding away.

There are spiritual teachers who teach that life can be changed by ones own effort. But some of them say that, you where destined to meet me” at the same time. My Ara-mitama is in rage when I hear something like this.

We are all creatures connected to the ultimate source. The ultimate Kami is watching you and telling you to live your short life in the way you design and create. Life is not fixed. You have the choice and freedom to make it better. Don't be afraid to fall over and over again. Stay strong and keep trying. Dont give up!

The Weight of Kami

There is an episode about the Kami (deity) enshrined in a famous shrine. One day, the shrine had to be rebuilt and the body of the Kami had to be relocated during the construction. A ritual had to take place before the moving of the enshrined Kami. The Mikoshi (mobile small shrine) was placed by four selected priests at the center of the site of celebration. According to the priests, the Mikoshi was fairly light when they were carrying it to the site.

The celebration ritual starts and the Miko dances to the Gagaku music to purify the site and to enable the Kami to enter the Mikoshi. The Norito chant was spoken to celebrate the moment. Once the ritual had completed, the four male priests dressed in white attire started to carry the Mikoshi to relocate the enshrined Kami. Just as they had lifted the Mikoshi, they all seem to have sunk low to their knees. By the time they got to the stairs, one of the priests seemed to be out of breath. He almost lost his balance and a higher priest quickly came to rescue him and took over his place. They later said that the weight of the Mikoshi had gotten so heavy, it felt like as if they were carrying an iron block. They realized that Kami actually had moved into the Mikoshi and was stricken with awe to acknowledge his existence.

Last year, I had an experience similar to this. I was told by a Kami to bring all of the Fuda I had at home to Naigū. And so I did. I brought it to the office of Naigū as I was told and a young man came out to receive the Fuda. All of the Fuda were made out of paper so it should be fairly light. But as he was receiving the Fuda in his hands, his hands fell slightly low. The Fuda at my house had been a place for many Kami to reside for a whole year. They must have been accumulating a lot of energy on the Fuda. The energy of the divine actually carries a sense of weight. It is a very fine magnetic energy and I don't think there is a physical weight to it.

If you had put the Fuda that had been a place for the Kami to reside on a scale, you wont see any difference, but sensing it on your hand, you will feel the weight. However, humans souls are rougher in the magnetic energy frequency. So they do have a weight. In Western science, they made an experiment to weigh the human body right before and after his death.  The statistics tells that the human soul actually weighs few ten grams.
In my senses, I dont think its that heavy. But when I touch the smoke like energy after the soul has left the body I sense some kind of texture, which means there is a slight amount of weight.

So the Tanzaku on your altar must be fairly thick for many of your ancestor might be visiting. It cannot be a thin paper. The regular thickness of a Tanzaku should do just fine. There are meanings to the tools used in the Kuyō.

The Existence of Kami

I am putting together the photos I have taken this past two years of the great nature of Ise. I am writing the feeling I am getting through each of the photos. The photos are showing the original form of Kami large and clearly and this never happened before. Also the giant Iwakura (the rocks that Kami descend) is showing the Iwa-kagami (the rocks that has become a mirror) very large and clearly. Not a vague shape but a special kind of geometric pattern is appearing in the photo.

Before I began my trip, I have asked permission to Kami that I will be taking photos and to apologize for my impertinent behavior. However, seeing so many clear forms appearing in my camera, I sense that this is a divine will that he/she wants to be seen to prove their existence. I believe this book will be a valuable document to show the existence of Kami. (It is to be published around mid May.)

I am reminded today that the existence of Kami is now becoming more and more real in this World of Reality.

The modern civilization is coming to a closer. It is destroying this planet Earth. Most people don't believe in god or Kami. They think once we are dead, its the end. They flight to win and think it as success. However that is not the truth. As it is written on the Kojiki and the Old Testament, things will happen.

The default setting in this world is set to reflect what you did to others onto yourself.

But we don't know, when the reflection will occur. It might happen soon or it could happen in your next life. Nothing goes to waste. It will all be balanced one way or another in a rational manner. So if you want to change, just do your best to help others around you in the way you can. This is a very practical method for you to get back on track.

Before you worry about work or problems in your love relationship, know that if your sense of gratitude toward Kami is thin your ground is shaky. You will never come to a solid answer.

The inner voice of conscience is always there with you. If you commit a crime, your inner-self is the witness. If you do good things, your inner-self is the witness. Your inner-self is Kami and you cannot hide anything from him/her.

Each of our Kami will start to manifest. It is already happening.

Don't Judge Easily

You might think, how come this bad guy is doing so well looking happy?  And how come a nice person like her have to experience such misfortune?

It is not right to judge someone by looking at one short period of his/her lifetime.  If we look at the bigger picture including past lives, what is happening right now is just a twinkling of an eye.

When you just take a look at one shot of the whole film, it may look irrational and unfair. But it you could look at the whole picture, you will find out that everything he/she did do come back to him/her. It might come back in this lifetime or it might come back in the next lifetime.

A lifespan is actually extremely long when viewed from the gods. Everyone is treated equally from their point of view. Depending on which country you are born to, there is a significant difference in financial wealth. But again, there is a reason for you to be born to a particular country.

If you were born in Japan today where there is a lot of freedom and still commit suicide, you will be born in a poor country with no freedom the next life. Everything is inverted and reflected.

Kami tells us that there is no death, no end. Your heart goes on forever. So don't worry. What you do now will reflect on your future. Nothing goes to waste. Everything is alive and continues to live. Its just that there is a time lag and it may happen soon or later. What you did and what will happen is tied very tightly and cannot be separated. Even its a hypocritical action better do than don't. It could be a scary thing, because the truth will always be there and there is no escape. It will always come back to you. That is the Universal Law.

Stop being stupid thinking that the future cannot be changed. Now is the time. Make small efforts to be a better person. That is what we are here for.

The Authentic Power

(written on March 20th, 2010)
The spring equinox is the day where the suns angle (latitude&longitude) is at zero. It is a beginning.

It is a day to celebrate the sun and a perfect day to give thoughts to your ancestors. The tradition has been to pay a visit to your ancestral grave on this day. But it was originally a day to send gratitude to the sun. So it will give good means to pay a visit to a shrine on this day.

Visiting a shrine should really be about sun worship. That is the original idea. Worshiping a deified spirit, a spirit that has characters like a human being, has been going on in the last few thousand years. It is a pity that the original idea of worship has degenerated. The original religious idea was to simply pay respect to the Great Nature by sending gratitude. Humans started to grow ego more and more and desired personal gains. This resulted in worshipping deified spirits. However, in truth, this has strayed many people from the right path and no true spiritually power will come through worshipping these spirits who used to be humans.

The spiritual power becomes more effective when the sun worship and ancestral worship is practiced in a set. Many people dont have the time to visit a shrine on a daily basis. So you can do it at home. The most important thing is to simply make a habit to send gratitude to the sun and to your ancestral spirits on a daily basis.

Today the TV news was showing the people visiting their ancestral grave. I thought it was a very good idea to keep reminding people that the day of spring equinox is a day to send kūyo to ancestors.

1. One should be aware that one is here only because of ones ancestors.
2. One should be aware and grateful that one is led to live through the existence of kami.

These two very simple awareness would make your life so much smoother. It will bring coincidences and good luck that no theorist could explain.

The true identity of Yahata-no-kami or Hachimann-shin

The shrine that worships Yahata-no-kami or Hachimann-shin (八幡神) is called Yahata Jinjya or Hachimann Jinjya. There are so many Yahata Jinjya all over Japan. The number of this shrines are probably second largest after Inari Jinjya (稲荷神社).
According to my psychic reading, this god or Kami is a deified spirit (who used to be human). It means that he is not a true deity.  Yahata-no-kami is said to be the deified Emperor Ohjin(15th Emperor, 270-310AD) but there are few other theories and it is not certain. The name Yahata-no-kami suddenly starts to appear in historical documents around 1300 years ago. He is a mystery. The fact that there are so many of this shrine is also a mystery. One of the oldest historical documents Kojiki does not mention this kami.

I have been told by a Kami not to reveal the truth of this Kami for a very long time. The reason is because it will change the history of the birth of this country. I will write as much as I am permitted. I visited some of the Yahata Jinjya that are over a thousand years old. When I visited the shrines, I found out that there was actually not the Yahata-no-kami nor the Emperor Ohjin but a different Kami enshrined. I felt the same Kami enshrined in all of the old Yahata shrines. The name of the Kami is Hakusan-kukuri-hime-kami. This means all of these shrines used to be Hakusan Jinjya. When we add all the Hakusan Jinjya and Yahata Jinjya through out Japan, we will have the largest group of shrines that worships the same Kami. Hakusan-kukuri-hime-kami is the goddess that brought Izanagi-kami and Izanami-kami back together. (parents of Amaterasu-ohomikami)
In the super ancient days, the center deity of the unification of this country was Hakusan-kukuri-hime-kami. Even with the Buddhist temples, the ones that worship Yahata-dai-bosatsu(八幡大菩薩) used to be Hakusan Jinjya. The lands were taken over in the later days to create Buddhist temples.
When you are visiting Yahata Jinjya, think of Hakusan-kukuri-hime-kami and send gratitude towards her. She is a true deity that resides in these shrines. The reason why the name was changed from Hakusan to Yahata is because of the stratagem planned by powerful immigrants from a foreign land. The true identity of Yahata-kami is a foreign god who was worshipped by these immigrants. Because these people were skillful in metal casting, astronomy and medical science, the Japanese leader of this time thought they were holy people that can use magic freely. They got involved in politics as well and managed to somehow change many of the Hakusan Jinjya into Yahata Jinjya for a place to worship there own god.  It has been changed from Yahweh to Yahve→Yahhah →Yahahata →Yahata. The ancestors of these people from the continent had been one of the eight tribes who supported the first Emperor Jimmu (660-585BC).  They also had a close relationship with the Hata Family (秦 also 幡 of Yahata. Yahata written as eight hata ) who were also immigrants and aristocrats of a foreign land. Im sure they didn't know about the fact that the spirit of Yahweh was already here in Japan resting at Gegū of Ise Jingu long before their arrival.
It is merely one scene of a long story of the making of Japan, a mysterious land where the gods reside.

The more you polish, the more you shine

In my daily life, I always communicate with people with the awareness that they all have their innate god and that they all have parents who gave life to them. When I acknowledge these things, no matter how the person is bringing an irrational outrage on me, I could still deal with him in a calmly manner. Raising an infant to an adult is a long and hard work. Therefore, not to judge that one person alone but by thinking of his parents who gave so much effort to raise the child would bring a different dynamics to the picture.

Living in a society, frictions between people are unavoidable. One of the lessons we need to learn is how to polish ourselves through these circumstances. The person you have to deal with is like a mirror, a chance to look at your soul. Unfortunately, this world is made to work in this way. You cannot polish yourself without others involved. You always need others to create a friction. So you have a chance to look inside the mirror and polish yourself. The others could be your partner in life, your parent, child, schoolmate, or a colleague. When you are having problems with someone, it simply means you are work in progress.  You are simply in the process of polishing yourself.

The awareness of polishing your own mirror is very important in this dimension. If you are unaware of this idea, you will waste a lot of time under living in force of habits and suffering. Once your mirror starts to shine, you will start to feel sympathy to everyone around you. We should not forget that we all have our own innate god within. We are all connected to the root source of Kami.

When you want to convince the opponent, try to reach his soul, his innate god. Even he doesnt respond at that time, he will think about it later. The content of the discussion has to come for your sincere intention in order to reach the innate god of your opponent.

Let us work on polishing our mirror through the frictions between others to shine our light.

Mirror World

The world you live in can be changed just with a little shift in your thoughts. Peoples happiness and unhappiness are created very simply than one would imagine.

There are several universal laws in this world we live in. One of them is called the Law of Reflection. What you give (feelings and actions) to others will reflect onto yourself.

Whether you are aware of this law or not will change your life. If you were aware of this law, when you got into a fight, you wont be too obsessed until you hurt yourself. You know its better to stop fighting and act from your side because you know that it would reflect back to you.

If you are praying for your own benefit asking for your wish to come true or asking for healing your sickness, your world would probably not change. That is because of this law. When you are praying for others from your heart the Law of Reflection will work.  The others could be your ancestral spirits. When you are praying for your closest others it may result in healing yourself.

The secret to true happiness lies upon this law.

Honor your innate god, your conscience. And at the same time think about what you are emanating to others. If don't forget to be humble, you will be all right. Your softness will melt the fist.

According to the mythology, when Amaterasu-Ohomikamis grandchild was sent to this World of Reality, he was given one farewell gift. It was a mirror. This implies a message from the gods that this world we live in is a Mirror World.

Today, we will meet more people who would be reflections of ourselves just like a mirror.
What are you emanating and what does your reflections look like?
